Help Mad Moggy (that's british for a crazy cat ;) ) to collect all the required items on each level without falling down or hitting skulls (later levels). Picking up more than one of the same type of item in a row (see the blinking pick up in the score area) will give multiple points.

Once the Moggy has started, it is full speed ahead, until hitting something (or you press the other direction), then  Moggy will reverse and sets off in full speed in the other direction. Like cats do!

Controls:
Run/switch direction with arrows left/right.
Jump with arrow up

This game is done in assembler for the Commodore 64 and runs on original hardware as well as on emulators (like www.lvllvl.com/c64 used here).

Music and sfx is from an old game of mine, level gfx was made for the jam, the cat was made by Jonas Holmstén for an older production and used with permission.

A game made for the Platformer Jam #1 in just over three days so not a finished or polished game by any means. A full release will eventually be released by Pretzel Logic

UPDATE:
1.1 A bug in the collission detection was fixed so gameplay is a bit smoother
1.2 The digits (2) could loose a couple of pixels at times.

Love this game! A time bonus would be awesome, perfect for competition!

Thanks, in the full release it will have exactly that. And more things like moving platforms, portals, more enemies and catnip for that extra speed. 😉

wow! I can't wait! :)

A cute cat platform game and of course the cat has nine lives. I added it to my new video with other recently released games. Hope you like it.

Thank you for playing and for adding the game to your video. And the number of lives was kind of obvious. 😉

Great little game with nice sprite-animations and I also like the controls. The cat is easy to control, once you get used to it, also when she's at higher speed. I recognized, that the highscore doesn't seem to save to the disk, if you get over 2500 points, but that might be a problem with the emulators, as I haven't played the game on a real C64 yet. I'll do that, though. Good work so far.

Glad you like the game and the feel of the controls. Due to the time limit on the game jam, no high score saver was implemented (and the web emulator wouldn't save it anyway). There might be a real release coming up later on.

Thank you! Mad Moggy (2025, VisualImpact)

more like "Mad Controls". You slide more than an ice skater o_O (Cat animation is nice though). Can't handle the control scheme so it's just 5/10 from me.

Sorry to hear you don't like the controls, but cats running around and doing 180s do slide around quite a bit so I'd say it is a simulator. 😉 Hopefully some other games of mine can be of interest instead?

Very nice, could we publish this on the ZZAP! 64 coverdisk next month?

Thanks for the kind words, but to be honest I would prefer if you wait for a proper, polished Pretzel Logic release. :)

Okay, sounds good :) I love cats, so this one hits the spot. :)
